Our annual 4th of July camping trip to Boyer park was a little lonely this year without the Workmans. The weather was hot, hot, hot but gloriously with no wind. We had the perfect ski day and the water felt fantastic. We were joined on Wednesday by the Shepherd family and had a great time at Crab Claw beach where we played in the shallows. This was Reggie's first camping trip and he had a wonderful time. He is now an expert swimmer and can get up on the ski deck all by himself. Cooper cooked fantastic biscuits and gravy over the campfire and our steaks and foil potatoes were so delicious. We whimped out on Wednesday night and came home to sleep in our own beds, but since Tony was on call on the 4th, I think it was for the best.
The ward 4th of July breakfast was a wonderful success. It was well attended, a great breakfast and a lovely program. We were especially proud of Max for leading the cub scout flag ceremony. Cooper graciously donated the jumping castle to the primary. Marcos loved the pony rides. Tony even snuck over from the hospital to grab some pancakes and sausage.
We spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning up our camping stuff and watching movies in our cool house.
The Endicott fireworks display was awesome this year, best yet. Cooper made 100 bucks with his jumping castle. All the kids had a great time popping open glow sticks and covering themselves with it.
Tony managed to join the fun for a few minutes and play some frisbee with the kids. Every year, it is a scene from the movies and I can't believe my kids get to grow up in a place like this.
