Temple impressions

I am really thankful that I can go to the temple. I feel such relief there. Today I had three impressions. First, to stay the course with Wilson. Now is not the time to instigate new programs, incentives or rules, just consistency and follow-through with what we are already doing. Secondly, we need understand that one of the main reasons we have Wilson is to bring Tony and I closer together. Third, I recognized my error. When Wilson makes a mistake I must give him time to recognize his error before I jump all over him and start making demands for apologies and retribution.

First day of school

4 out of 5 children had a a good first day of school. 1 out of 5 children left angry defiant and belligerent. I think this will be a typical percentage for most things this year. I'm going to have to learn to be OK with that.

One senior, one sophomore, one seventh grader, one 5th grader, one 2nd grader. One football player, one cross country runner, one basketball player, 4 band geeks, a science bowl member, 2 seminary students and 2 FBLA participants. This is going to be an exciting year, full of a lot of bittersweet moments, frequent attempts at emancipation, and heavy reassurances. I am feeling a little overwhelmed.

Today I locked myself in the house and cleaned for 6 hours straight. I listened to devotional talks and This American Life. I am pooped. My greatest accomplishment was cleaning out underneath the couch in the attic where food is strictly forbidden.
