Wilson turns 20

I love you Wilson Anthony Lundberg.  It doesn't matter what you do, don't do, or say.  You will someday bring me great joy and I will wait.

weekend in the Cascades

On Thursday night at 11:30 pm, Tony and I made a spontaneous reservation for a hotel room in Winthrop Washington.  On Friday morning, amid great protest from Max and Marcos, we packed a picnic, grabbed a change of clothes and jumped in the car.  We were in Winthrop by lunchtime where Tony had a ridiculously delicious burger and onion rings.  We checked out the town and the( ice cream parlor) and headed up to Diablo lake.  We had a beautiful hike overlooking a teal-blue, ice-cold lake.  The scenery was spectacular and we enjoyed our conversations with the boys.  After the hike we went back to the hotel room for a quick snack (Kombucha for Max) and went for a lovely swim under the stars.  In the morning Tony and I went for a great run on the Methow trails.  We had another swim and headed toward Grand Coulee Dam.   After ice cream and and tacos from the taco truck, we introduced the boys to the dunes at spring canyon.  The weather was perfect and we had a great time running pel-mel into the warm, crystal clear water.  The lesson of the weekend was clear.  Take the time, spend the money, make the memories.  It doesn't take much of any of those things.  Max's favorite part was staying at the hotel.  Marcos like the dunes the best.  Tony liked the food and I liked the hike.
