Fourth of July

It was wonderful to resume our 4th of July camping tradition with Workmans this year. We met at our usual spot at Boyer park on Thursday, set up camp and started swimming and fishing. The weather was hot, but with a nice breeze. We all remembered the storm of 2012 when the wind blew my canoe down the river and snapped our tent poles. When the Dads got off work we BBQ steaks and potatoes. Later we enjoyed the most lovely evening including a perfect red, white and blue sunset at "crab claw beach." We ran on the dunes and enjoyed the warmer shallow water. We had a cozy smores by the campfire and Tony told his Famous Long John Silver stories. On Friday we attended the church breakfast then spent the rest of the day back at Boyer park. It was on this day that Tony offered his phone to the lake gods at the marina. It was a sad moment. The water was cold and choppy, but it didn't stop the kids from lot of good tubing. Under Oakley's influence, the kids also spent hours fishing and really enjoyed it. We packed up after dinner that night and headed to Endicott for fireworks. As usual, they were magnificent and Tony got to play football, koob and frisbee to his hearts content.
