No work Wednesdays have proven to be an awesome schedule change for Tony and I. We have had so much fun snowshoeing and finding cool hikes. Last week we discovered "The Vortex" a great hike near Dammron Valley. We also explored hikes out in Leeds, although that was an exceptionally windy day, the drive was precarious and we got lost.
Mom and Dad invited us to join them for an anniversary dinner at Katherine's in Mesquite, one of the great perks of living here. We also enjoyed Jake and Callie for the weekend. The boys were not feeling well, but the pure joy of having their happy voices and messes was wonderful. Callie made us comfort food like cookies and banana muffins and we loved seeing them parent and work so beautifully together.
Sam started his first new job this week! He is a pizza maker at Papa Murphy's and is enjoying having the extra money.
Tony and I went up to Provo on Friday night to celebrate Betsy's birthday. We hiked Rock Canyon in the morning, saw a play (One for the Pot-absolutely hilarious) and had Thai for "linner." It was especially fun to have Brad join us stag. Kim was skiing with her boys. Just 24 hours with Jeff and Betsy totally filled our cup. The only damage when we got home was a pile of dishes from Max and his friends making cookies.
Tony had his first quilt night with his Mom on Tuesday. He is enamored with quilting and is really proud of his handiwork. This will be a special time with his Mom and Dad and hopefully he can cherish the time with his parents.
