It was not a typical Easter. There were only 7 people around the table instead of 27. Just ham, no lamb. No new dresses and ties. No going to church. We did enjoy a family Zoom meeting with Evan in Portugal and a simple service in our living room focused on the Savior. Wilson and Tony blessed and passed the sacrament. We read the Easter messages from our Bishopric. We took a few pictures. It was simple and peaceful. I have appreciated the message this year about how unexpected Easter is during the pandemic. It makes it a lot like the first Easter where EVERYTHING was unexpected.

Quarentine Conference
This is an odd time. We don't go to school. We don't got to work. We don't visit people. We only go out to get groceries. Rumors swirl around like dust devils. The stock market plummeted. People are jumpy and nervous. Masks block our mouths so we can't understand each other or read expressions. The media proclaims devastation and it feels like the second coming is around the corner. We were all desperate and anxious for General Conference and to hear our prophet. Pres Nelson spoke to us in every session. We participated in a solemn assembly to honor the 200th anniversary of the restoration. The prophet announced a worldwide fast and 9 new temples including Shanghai and Dubai. We also received a proclamation honoring the restoration. The power of the weekend for me was the familiarity, peace and calm that came from hearing apostles and prophets. The doctrine was soothing. The truth felt cool and refreshing.
