We did Labor Day this year with some fun laboring! We spent some time with Russ and Pam as they embark on their grand adventure in homesteading. After dinner in Elk Ridge, we loaded up trailers and headed to "the land." I had a whole new appreciation for the pioneers as we arrived in a treeless, dusty but beautiful place. Russ and Pam and several of their kids have set up RVs and have built a shop. Our goal was to unload trailers, but we also cleaned out the lean to for an outdoor living space as well as a spot in the barn for a kitchen. It was hard work, but Russ and Pam are two of the most grateful people I know and while we don't share their same excitement for homesteading, it was wonderful to see them living their dream. Of course, ice cream at Beaver creamery was the perfect ending to a fun weekend.
